When Survival Becomes Your Identity

The behaviors that save us can eventually limit us.
A practical, human examination of identity, adaptation, and leadership.

Most people believe trauma is something that happened. In reality, trauma is often something we continue doing.

Through stories from combat, recovery, entrepreneurship, and leadership, Mark challenges audiences to reconsider the difference between identity and adaptation—and to recognize unconscious patterns before they shape careers, relationships, and organizations.

The goal is not to eliminate the parts of us that learned to survive. It is to understand them, integrate them, and decide whether they should still be in charge.
